Foster Diary - HARRY

Welcome to Harry's Foster Diary
This is the boy we rescued just days ago after he was being sold on Freeads for £50.
Follow along for updates on his journey from Rescue to finding his forever home.
We were desperate when Harry arrived for funds to help this boy so we launched a special appeal. All our supporters rallied and came together and we were able to proceed with some much needed care.
Once he arrived into our care, we noticed his breathing wasn’t quite right and after a vet check, he was diagnosed with BOAS.
Sadly, this was the second case we had seen in as many months. He’ d only just started learning what it feels like to be safe, to run through fields, and to enjoy the simple things… but right then, even breathing comfortably is a struggle.
He needed surgery to give him the happy, healthy life he deserves. The cost of his procedure was expected to be in excess of £3,000, and we asked for your support to help us make that happen. ![]()
Harry's latest update warmed our hearts:
We're pleased to report that Harry has now had his surgery and is recovering well. Not only did he have his extensive BOAS procedure, but while he was under anaesthetic, we also relieved him of his crown jewels .
We're not entirely convinced he'll forgive us for that particular decision!
Despite everything, Harry is already showing us more and more of his true character. He's taken it upon himself to assist with important Health & Safety inspections in the playing field, ensuring every inch has been thoroughly checked.
He's also mastered the art of spreading himself across an entire bed, quite an achievement for such a small dog!
He's become best friends with the resident dog however he’s still a little selective over some of the other dogs he meets, so we're continuing to work on that at his pace. He's also apparently decided to take up swimming lessons.
Move over, Tom Daley, there's a new athlete in town, although we're not quite sure Harry has grasped the finer points of the sport just yet!
As for lead walking... let's just say that's still very much a work in progress and leave it there!
For now, it's all about rest, recovery, and enjoying the good life he so deserves.
Thank you again to everyone who helped make his surgery possible. Every donation, share and kind word has played a part in giving Harry the chance to breathe easier and look forward to a bright future.
We'll continue to keep you updated on his recovery and adventures
