Primrose Pupdate - Gus
Can you believe our big lad Gus has been with us for over a year now? And what a difference that year has made.
In the words of his foster pawrents:
“Gus is doing brilliantly. He’s happy, comfortable, out of pain and absolutely loving life. His regular hydro keeps him supple, keeps those important muscles working and helps him continue to enjoy some really decent walks.
We just watch for the little signs that tell us when he’s had enough or might need a bit of extra TLC.
Although, being Gus, he also gives us plenty of signs about absolutely everything else. Quietly suffering in silence has never really been his style.
He’s firmly part of the whole Paws Trading gang, happily mixing with Collies, the Boxer, Vizslas, Frenchie and, of course, fellow Bostons Shrimp and Cooper. Big pack day or little pack day, Gus is everybody’s mate. But his absolute best friend is Oliver. They sit together, lie together and genuinely adore one another. It’s a proper little bromance.
Then we have Gus’s other great love… SNACKS. In Gus’s opinion, snacks should be available freely and without unnecessary human interference. Unfortunately, too much of a good thing turns our already substantial Boston unit into a Boston Potato, and extra potato isn’t helpful for those joints.
So the snack department remains under strict management!”
Gus is one of our Primrose Pups, which means that although he lives his wonderful life within his loving family unit, he is still a UK Boston Terrier Rescue dog and we continue to support him throughout his days.
That includes helping provide the ongoing care and therapies he needs to keep him comfortable and enjoying life.
This is why the virtual hydro sessions our supporters purchase for Gus are such a massive help to the rescue. Every session gifted takes some of that ongoing financial pressure away from UKBTR while allowing us to continue giving Gus the hydro that makes such a noticeable difference to him.
That really sums up what makes UK Boston Terrier Rescue and our wonderful supporters such a marvellous team.
The rescue, our foster families, volunteers and the people who donate, buy virtual gifts, fundraise, share our posts and cheer these dogs on all play a part.
Together, we make sure our Bostons get the very best care we can possibly give them, whether they are just starting their rescue journey or, like Gus, need our support for the rest of their days.
So to everyone who has ever bought Gus a virtual hydro session, supported our Primrose Pups or helped UKBTR in any way you are part of their team too, and we really couldn’t do it without you.
Gus has his pack, his humans, his best mate Oliver, his hydro, carefully rationed snacks… and naturally a great deal to say about all of it.
