Adoption Page 2 -Romy
Meet Romy - 3 years old
Beautiful Romy is still available and we don’t know why. Romy is looking for a foster-to-adopt home with an owner who has experience with anxious dogs and who understands she will take time to build up that trust. Romy will need support, patience, consistency and someone willing to help her grow into the dog we know she can be
Romy struggles with anxiety and is reactive to new people due to her fears. Her future family must understand this and that she will need time, patience and routine to feel safe and secure. Romy would like:
An experienced dog owner
A calm, predictable home
Consistent routines and boundaries
Someone willing to go at her pace
A person who is home most of the day (WFH, semi-retired or retired would suit her best)
A low-traffic household
Rural or semi-rural area with secured high garden fencing. Romy wouldn’t be suited to:
Children
Cats or other small furry pets
A busy household
A life full of excitement and constant adventures
Romy could be an only dog, or live with a calm, steady "nanny" type dog who can help her navigate the world. The right person will understand that progress comes in small steps. When Romy finds that person, the bond they build together will be incredibly special
Romy also has a best friend, Jax. While we're currently looking for a home for Romy on her own, if someone could consider welcoming both, it may help them settle in more easily.
Romy is based in Dorset. As this is a foster-to-adopt placement, potential adopters will need to commit to a couple of visits to get to know her before any move takes place. If there's a resident dog, meet-ups will also be required. Could you be Romy’s special person?
