Host a Raffle or Auction
Hosting your own charity raffle or auction is an incredible way to engage people and raise funds for us.
People love the thrill of winning, and knowing that every bid or ticket sale directly pays for a rescued Boston's vet bills makes giving easy.
Here is a quick, stress-free checklist to get your UKBTR fundraiser sorted without the headache. Think of it as a simple step-by-step guide to keeping things fun and organised!
🎁 The Goodies (Prizes)
- The "Star" Prize: Grab one or two extra-cool items (like a luxury hamper or a local meal voucher) to get people excited.
- The Runner-ups: Aim for a handful of smaller, fun prizes so plenty of people walk away happy.
- A Ask Letter: A quick, friendly message to send to local businesses or pet shops asking if they’d like to donate a prize for the Bosties.
🎟️ For a Raffle (The Easy Winner)
- Ticket Books: A couple of cheap books of numbered cloakroom tickets from a local shop or online.
- A Big Bucket: Something deep to toss the ticket stubs into and give them a really good shake before drawing.
- Cash Tin & Change: A secure box and a handful of coins so you can give people change if they pay with cash.
🔨 For an Auction (The Bidding War)
- A Loud Voice: Find a confident friend (or grab a cheap megaphone/mic) to act as your auctioneer and hype up the crowd.
- Pens & Paper: If you are doing a "Silent Auction," you just need a sheet of paper next to each prize where people can scribble down their name and their bid.
