UKBTR would like to introduce our ‘Primrose Pups’

Previously known as ‘Furever Fosters’ our Primrose Pups are Bostons that will stay in their Foster Homes forever, living their best lives and being spoiled.

So why the change of name?

As spring approaches the first flowers we see are often Primroses. They bring the sun, warmth and light to us all, just like our Furever Fosters. The Primrose is seen as a symbol of new beginnings, hope and transformation - which sums up these special pups perfectly.

UKBTR currently have 7 golden oldies in foster where we take them in and place them in a loving home where they can live out their days on their retirement sofas in the comfort that all Bosties demand and deserve

The rescue will cover their expenses including all medical and veterinary costs for the rest of their lives regardless of what issues they come in with and/or develop as they age to keep them happy and comfortable and this can be a huge strain on our resources but they deserve it.

Meet our Primrose Pups

Penny – was only 1 when she came into rescue, has spinal issues affecting her continence and mobility and some separation anxiety and needs a lot of reassurance and input, she is 7 now and doing well with foster mum managing her with dedication and love

Winston – is now 14 and was surrendered in a very sorry state severely underweight, depressed and shut down, developed a liver and bowel infection and we nearly lost him, but he has bounced back and with the love and input from foster pawrents has flourished and is enjoying a country garden  life which in he insists he is chased round before he will come indoors lol

George – will be 12 this year and surrendered when his family emigrated . He is a grumpy old man who is  partially sighted with cataracts and prone to ulcers, also riddled with arthritis but he loves a good plod and sniff, loves biscuits and the sofa and fights to destroy the post every day.

Dexter – is nearly 10 and surrendered in 2024 with his sister due to his owner going abroad. He has eye issues along with cataracts and is a loving gentle giant who loves to grumble and cuddle his hoomans

Dora – is a tiny 10 year old and came in as her owner had died but had been handed from person to person, she had no records, no information at all not even a birthday. She was in a poor condition suspected breeding girl, has cataracts and wasnt toilet trained but she is the sweetest squidgy little poppet who loves people and dogs and has bloomed with the love and fuss she has received from her new foster family

Jeanie – is 9 and deaf, her owner had his own issues and couldnt keep her. She was in poor condition and had been bred from, she has numerous lumps and infected mammary glands, we are awaiting results to see if tumours. She is incontinent of faeces and very underweight but she is a snuggly little girl and dances for her food lol

Doris – is 11 blind and deaf and came in to rescue when her elderly parents both became hospitalised, initially very depressed but she has found her feet, mapped the house, put the other dogs in their place and found her cuddle spot -even mastering bunny hops to get up the stairs for the bed

Dominoe - This handsome 7-year old boy didn’t come into the rescue as a Primrose Pup, but he did come in very unwell, severely underweight with a suspected gastrointestinal problem and chewed, scarred ears…

…fast forward 3-months, and Domino is flourishing  He has gained an incredible 3.5kg all thanks to a new diet that his stomach copes well with. He’s been given the all clear by the vets, no gastrointestinal issues! And his ears are looking a lot better, although they will never fully heal.

After such a turn around, and the risk that Domino may well regress into his poorly state again, our foster was thrilled to be able to welcome him home permanently as a Primrose Pup

Domino is happy living his best life with his two Boston sisters and smelling that beautiful highland air

Gus now has more movement in his neck and he’s lost the excess weight he had, having dropped from 17kg to 14.2kg! He’s developed muscle tone which is supporting his discs meaning he’s in less pain and eager to be more dog! He’s still under strict supervision and it’s a long road for Gus, but that Boston smile makes all the hard work so worth it ❤️
Thank you to his amazing foster for taking Gus in, showing him a new life and taking him to all his weekly appointments. Another thank you so Carnfield Hall for helping Gus and the rescue, and thank you to all our supporters who donated, liked, shared, commented on our appeal for Gus  - your support has helped us put a smile back on Gus’ handsome Boston face once more ❤️
